An Afghan-led movement for peace

A new social contract for Afghanistan, written by Afghans.

قرارداد اجتماعی نوین برای افغانستان، به قلم زنان و مردان این سرزمین.

A political solution born of inter-Afghan negotiations — free from any foreign interference.

Afghan Peace Dialogue brings together Afghans of every community and engages European and international institutions to relaunch inter-Afghan negotiations, defend human rights and the rights of Afghan women, and prepare a democratic transition.

4 stages

A national dialogue towards transitional peace

Reza Jafari, founder and President of Afghan Peace Dialogue

A word from our founder

“As an Afghan who deeply knows and loves my country and its people, I created Afghan Peace Dialogue to foster a true and lasting peace — an Afghan-led peace, never an externally imposed one, involving the youth, women, ethnic groups and minorities who shape the nation’s future.”

Reza Jafari
Founder and President · Ambassador for Peace

Our objectives

A sustainable, inclusive and equitable peace

Authentic peace cannot be achieved without the inclusion of all Afghan voices.

I

An inclusive peace process

Afghan-led, fully including youth, women and minorities, through forums, round tables and dialogue spaces.

II

Women’s rights and participation

A strong voice for Afghan women in building the nation’s future, through dialogue, training and leadership.

III

Democratic values and human rights

Freedom of expression, equality and civic rights, defended through awareness events and field actions.

IV

A transitional government

An inclusive, representative transition preparing transparent elections and the safe return of refugees.

V

Human security and fundamental rights

Targeted international aid and the safety and dignity of all Afghans, especially in conflict-affected areas.

VI

Engaging the international community

Keeping Afghanistan on the world’s peace and security agenda, alongside international leaders and organisations.

Our vision

A New Narrative for Afghanistan

روایت نو برای افغانستان

Transitional peace through a four-stage national dialogue. Afghanistan suffers from three deficits — a lack of clarity, a lack of vision and a lack of national consensus. Until Afghans overcome them together, no lasting solution can take shape.

◆ STAGE I

Roots of the crisis

Lessons from past regimes and the role of regional and global powers.

◆ STAGE II

Shared pain, shared cure

Common values, and the future roles of women, youth, minorities and civil society.

◆ STAGE III

A new social contract

Models of governance, citizens’ rights, justice, environment and natural resources.

◆ STAGE IV

Roadmap for the future

A gradual transition from crisis to stability, with the diaspora and international partners.

Founding manifesto

A national peace discourse

Afghanistan needs a political solution. Peace requires inclusive inter-Afghan negotiations, national unity and merit — not ethnic power-sharing or foreign intervention.

1

A permanent and comprehensive ceasefire

With a general amnesty, as the precondition for resuming inter-Afghan negotiations.

2

Shared priorities for the country’s future

Democracy, human rights, girls’ education, women’s rights, freedom of expression and territorial integrity.

3

A two-year transitional government

Under UN supervision, with a consultative Loya Jirga and transparent elections.
