Peace Dialogue and Inclusive Government in Afghanistan at the French National Assembly.

This conference was organized by the Afghanistan Peace Dialogue Movement and the Environmental Group at the French National Assembly. It was a pivotal moment for discussions on peace talks and the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan. Honorable guests included Reza Jafari, head of the Afghanistan Peace Dialogue, Homayoun Azizi, Afghanistan’s ambassador to France, and other prominent Afghan figures such as Rahmatullah Nabil, former head of Afghanistan’s security, Mohammad Alam Ezdyar, former deputy of Afghanistan’s Senate, Sadeq Modabber, former director of the Office of the President and Council of Ministers in Afghanistan, Farzana Kochai, former member of Afghanistan’s Parliament, and Shukria Barakzai, former ambassador to Norway.

The conference opened with an inspiring speech by Sabrina Sabahi, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, who emphasized the plight of Afghan women under Taliban rule and the importance of safeguarding their rights for an inclusive future. Reza Jafari highlighted the importance of neutrality and tolerance among Afghanistan’s various movements and underscored the significant role of the younger generation in organizing this event. He expressed hope that these discussions would foster a better understanding of the current challenges and lead to an agreement for an inclusive government, thereby bringing peace and stability to the country.

Other speakers, such as Rahmatullah Nabil, emphasized the need for national consensus before pursuing international unity, while Zeinab Mazari highlighted the critical role of women and the urgency of action to prevent further suffering for the Afghan people.

The conference also explored various policy proposals, such as the establishment of a federal system for better representation of Afghanistan’s cultural and ethnic diversity. The speakers concluded by underscoring the necessity of internal cohesion and an inclusive government to achieve lasting peace in Afghanistan.
